Human Factors

Human factors training allows healthcare professionals to anticipate, recognise and mitigate human error in healthcare.

Using a model of human factors training developed by the aviation industry, students learn to analyse adverse events using a just culture model, recognising the systematic, team and individual factors which led to the adverse event. Facilitated by expert instructors from aviation and healthcare, students learn to apply these skills to their own clinical practice.

The course is developed jointly by the Irish Aviation Authority and Code Blue.
