The MedicALS course is designed to teach hospital doctors to assess and manage acute medical emergencies. Students use a structured ABCDE survey to identify life-threatening problems and prioritise interventions.
The course format comprises approximately 4 hours of online tutorials, followed by 2 days of hands-on practical scenarios, supervised by expert instructors.
Certification is by the Advanced Life Support Group (ALSG) in the UK. It is ideally suited to SHOs, Registrars, SpRs and Consultants in ED or Internal Medicine.
